Question
« on: May 01, 2002, 08:13:18 AM »
I was reading some stories of WW2 pilots.

Some decribed horrid stories of flames in the canopy etc.

It made me think, would it be cool to have that same effect in ah?  also when bombers use to dive to put out fires in their engines?

What about broken glass etc.

My questions is, how would it effect the FPS or video card if this type of damage modelling would occur?

Most pleanes blow up, it would be cool seeing a plane go from black smoke to flames in the wing up ot the canopy then breaking into pieces as it falls down to earth.

Just a thought

I dunno, it just sounds sick to me. I mean there is a reason why we play computer games instead of fly the real thing.

IMO, sometimes it can get too realistic.

That would be a bit much IMHO. I dont want to see flames in the cockpit. but bullet holes in the wing and glass would be sweet if ya want to go that route.

I think there is lots of room for creativity here. Why not beat yourself in the head with a hammer every time you get a pilot wound.

or......

Keep a bottle of kerosene and a book of matches next to the keyboard...use as needed..

Have a friend punch you in the stomach really hard whenever you hear a ping....

Strap a belt around your chest and get the kids to pull really tight to simulate g-forces...

Attach a rotary lawn mower engine to the base of your swivel chair....really adds to the spin of death experience....

and of course......the wife can be used as the ketchup squirter for wounded pilot realism.
