Unperk the F4U-4.  Though its fast at high altitudes, it still is only armed with machine guns.  If the eny was lowered to 7 or 8, things would balance out.

The F4u-4 is no different from teh TA152, climbs about as good, F4u turns a bit better with flaps out and has got better high speed handeling.

I don't agree with you Rip, can't be unperked unless the TA152 is aswell (which it probarly should be) and the Spit 14 lowered to abou 15-20 perks.

I agree with Dago, about 20 perks for it would be the right number, either that or unperk all those "fast but yet not so fast" planes such as the Spit 14, Ta152 and F4u-4.

Btw Rip, I am flying allied iron this tour, wanna do some f4u winging?

Both the Ta152 and Spit14 have cannons!  The F4U-4 has little machine guns.  This is why the F4U-4 should be unperked!

Ehehe, "the F4U-4 has weak guns" ... lol, you should drive regularly axis a/c then you'll find 8x0.5 simply incredible :) 600-700yds deflection shooting .... incredible :) its a new game :D

Actually, 6 50 cal guns rip planes apart, they VERY easy to hit with and kills beyond 500 yards are not a porblem.

Only thing that is better with cannons is quick snapshots when they pass infront of you, otherwise 6+ 50 cal guns are much better, I prefer those US 50 cals to anything.

50 cals are good up close, and when you get a good harmonized shot.  The F4U also carries alot of ammo.  However, thats all they have going for them.  In the F4U, a plane which relies heavily on snapshots, cannons are truly needed.  This is why the F4U-1c is so popular.  It only takes a two or three 20mm rounds to bring a plane down.  This is especially true for the F4U-4, the fastest Corsair.  As speeds increase, aiming and firing times decrease.  Yet the F4U-4 is still stuck with the ancient M2 machine guns.

I don't find the MG's that bad, if ur a good aim you can kill the enemy just as fast as u could with 20mms.
I think they should leave it perked, come fly in the H2H and you'll see how annoying it is EVERYONE is in late-war planes F4U-4, Spit14(you see the most) and late war Hurricanes/Temps...
Only crazy people like me try taking an F4u-1 or SpitI/HurricaneI and other early war planes up against all the ME262s and Spit14's LOL!

One thing I find about flyin early war planes though is it really helps with your dogfightin skills :) was gettin an average of 2 kills per flight in a spit1, and early 109 (without extra cannons) after about a week of flyin those I went back to the late war planes and the first day I had an average of 7 kills per mission lol!!!

but now I stink again gonna go get back in that 109 lol
