I'm afraid that if it stays at that time, there is not much chance that I will be making it, GA.  Still trying to figure out why they changed it.  9 pm start time sunday evening... doesn't leave much time for the guys who work early monday morning.

But as I always say... "you can't please everybody."

Of course I will try to make it, but just can't count on it :(

Why...?

Given that it's supposed to be a European-time event is the time given in US Eastern?!

Why not give it in either UK time or Central European Time (CET), so we either dont have to convert time zones at all, or can be sure we're not too far out at a glance? :-)

I also think the games should start earlier than that. C'mon, the next day is Monday, and folk have to go to work, some quite early. I'd much rather see it start at about 5 or 6pm UK time.

I do so hope no-one is going to say "but that'll count out some folk in the USA", because I shall have to restrain myself from saying something slightly rude if they do. USA folk get catered for a LOT. Nearly always, in fact, in online flight sims, and it tends to be us Europeans who have to fly at awkward days and times to fit in with them. Let it be the other way around for once, say I!

Numbers would be smaller ? Aye, so they might, to start with, but everything has to start somewhere, and over time it'l get more popular and numbers will grow, I'm sure.

I'm checking with the rest of KG2 whether we're up for this one, or whether we'll need a bit more time to get our act together for the following one.

Esme - although this is primarily a European event, we can't rule out the US players as they are needed to boost the numbers.... therefore we do have to take into account the US players, especially those on the West coast.  3 pm Eastern time (the standard used for announcing all events in AH) has long since been reached as a compromise time best suited to the majority of players in Europe and the US.  Any earlier affects church times on the US West coast, and any later makes it unreasonable for those in Europe.  We can't please everybody, unfortunately, so it will always be a compromise....

We changed it because it was obvious in the last weekend TOD that the time frame was not working.  Go back and look at the numbers....the Axis side was outnumbered 3 to 1 for 2 frames and the overall attendance was down also.  We saw this and asked the participants what we could do to help get attendance up and one of the suggestions that came up more than once was to change it to Sundays because Sat nights were the socializing night and people didnt want to commit to flying in an online game when they could be out....socializing.

I understand this time change wont work for everyone, but what can we do.  It has also come to my attention that this new time effectively leaves the Pac rim guys out also unless they are willing to fly very early on Monday morning.  I dont know what the answer is Kronos, but we are trying to find a time the works for as many folks as we can.  Keep in mind that this event may not stay on Sundays.....this is just something we are trying to see if it makes a difference as far as attendance.

IMO Sunday evening (euro time) TOD are a very good idea. The first thing I miss from my Warbirds days are those Sunday evening Scenarios Lites. They were well done and easy to attend.

No worries here Kronos....I was just trying to shed some light on the subject and answer your questions.  It takes a lot more than that to get on my bad side.  :D
