I want to be rewarded perk points on an assist even if it's a small fraction of what i'd get if i got the actual kill. hey afterall i didn't do the most damage but i did help finish off the nme or did some damage to make the nme an easier target. and for these reasons i believe perks should be rewarded 25% would be quite fine by me. i just want some reward for my part in the kill...

Maybe the wrong folder but absolutely right!! I take off and blow the hayalla out of somebody and watch their wing fly off when they weren't even smoking and I get a friggin assist.

What is up with that?

Also I think wherever this thread is continued we should discuss etiquette; if you see a countrymand blow a plane in half you don't dive on the carcass; that's his kill (and the system is absolutely NOT perfect on this; it will give somebody else the kill after such a thing happens).

sometimes you get the guy damaged first other times your team mate is too damaged to continue the pursuit so i finish um off never had any complaints about stealing a kill coz i'm honorable and all that

Don't know if this is going to move to different group but here is my .02 worth...

Awarding points for assists will only encourage IMO people chasing dead planes trying to get a ping or two to get some assist points. This will only aggrevate the Kill stealer problem.

I agree on BOTH counts...

It is frustrating to do a lot of the work and get no reward !
I also think you should get an Assist with Assist Perks for hitting a target such as a Hanger, even when you do not kill the hanger but the bomb hits it's target...

I also agree that if HT offered Assist Perks it would aggrevate the KILL STEALERS... You would have people flying into furballs just spraying and praying, hoping to cash in on some easy perks...

My Solution :

Make the Assist points minimal... Say 10%... That would be such an insignificant amount that it should not encourage those that would seek easy perks to waste their time with it... But in relation to bombs or rockets being on target it would help with your aim and skill development due to the fact that you would know absolutely if you had hit the target... Thus helping you vector in your dive bombing skills and shooting skills...

Besides... It ain't really the points... It's the principle of the whole concept of earning points for your skills...

I realise that Assists help in your overall ranking, but the immediate reward in the form of minimal perks would be much more gratifying... ( Great Idea Kaz ) I hope HiTech will take a look at this !!!

fly something else that LA7 and N1K and you will have no problem with perks ... if you will ever use them

yeah i do fly the la7 and n1k and yes i know i'll get less perks for kills but it's not so much a matter of how much i get as it is a reward for assisting in a kill i don't really care how much it is but Boot's suggestion of 10% sounds quite reasonable.
