Damn..i never even saw p-38 in whole 2 week period!!!

I love the P-38. That elevator is the easiest thing to hit in the entire arena. That elevator is also the main reason why I don't fly it.

I am a noob dweeb who flies the C-hog and a spit IX in the rare times I climb in a fast mover.  I've also never flown a "pure" flight sim in my life.

I've been playing for about 10 days.  My fighter rank (last time I looked) is 1488.  My bomber rank is 182.  I have 5 times as many kills in an osty than I do the c-hog.  The only time I've gotten a kill in a c-hog is when I'm using it for jabo off a carrier and happen to get in a lucky shot.  And I'll bet that's happened a grand total of twice.  I've gotten a few pings, and wind up with a kill 10 minutes later for whatever reason, but that's it.

I can't even keep vis on an opponent in a fighter.  But if I get lucky and wind up with a snap-shot, I would like to have a chance to survive, and maybe even get a kill.
It's the only way I can make a contribution to my team's effort in anything other than a bomber.

What is it that you want me to do?  Fly a 205 all the time, so you can shoot me down with no risk?  Boy, I'll be having some fun then, woo hoo!  I'd love to spend 30 bucks a month in total frustration.  Besides, I'm practically no risk in a chog either

I think another reason you see a lot of chogs is that it's one of the few planes you can fly off of a CV, that gives you both A2A and A2G capabilities.

As for earning respect, it's not on my agenda.  I'm here for entertainment, not affirmation of self-worth.

It makes no difference to me if HTC perks the chog.  They can take it out of the game completely, no matter.  The next time leet fie-dur pylits start getting splashed a few times by lucky unknowns in some other plane, they'll be all over HTC to perk that plane, too.  Hell, I've seen a lot of high-ranked players in chogs.

Just play the freaking game, LOL.  And the next time some despised noob gets a lucky golden BB into you, think about how many times you vets have shot his bellybutton down in flames.  And think about the total lack of noob posts on this BB whining about it.

If you make a game totally unenjoyable and frustrating for new players, how long do you think the game is going to survive?  You think HTC is gonna keep servers up so twenty or thirty aces can furball all night?

It seems there are always those that have to say how easy it is to kill the C-hog. Well, I don't think it is really a matter of how easy it is to kill.

The problem is the shear number of them and the "long range, I only have to hit you with 1 or 2 of these, split wing, no tail, super 20mm" cannons they have. It's easy to dive in, kill one and get out, but when there are a bunch of them flying around, with spray gun tactics, there is a lot of "one ping golden BBs" in the air.

A wasp is easy to kill. A couple, ok. You want to try and take on the whole nest with constant re-spwan?

Hell, it would be nice if they just cost 5 perks to fly. At least then we might see a little less of them.

Degas, I understand your concerns about having some kind of "entry-level" planes. But if you are having problems in combat, getting kills and such, there are many trainiers that are more than willing to teach you the first steps, and even the later advanced combat maneuvers. Check out the list of trainers and make an appointment. I used to fly the Chog, but early in this tour I changed to the -1D and now I never fly anything but my darling P-51D "Runstang". Getting into this game and being able to successfully engage and destroy the enemy takes some time. Give it that time, and I think you will be able to enjoy it as much as we others do.

Alternatives to the CHog/N1Ks include the Spitfire MkIX and the LA-5/7. I suggest you try them out, they are a lot of fun to fly as well.

As to perking the CHog, I support it, as long as the N1K is perked as well. Maybe 10 and 7 perk points respectively?

Degas, Its your 30 bucks,  fly whatever you like or feel most comfortable in. Ignore, squelch or point and laugh at those who whine about it.

<sarcasm mode on>

I say… Forget perking planes, PERK PILOTS!!!

Based on performance in said aircraft, each time you log on – you have to pay a price to fly it.  If you do well or get a lot of kills in one A/C you should be penalized for it.  Who cares if that happens to be the favorite out of the list or the most functional for job type.  I say you fly it too damn much, YOU FLY IT TOO DAMN MUCH!

Soon all pilots will be perked on every plane type, the only dog fighting and mud moving will be done by kamikaze C47’s, which is truly the only manly, honorable, and acceptable thing to do.

Excelent observation whels, I belive the super buff guns were actually caused by chog.
This happend before my time in AH but apparently ppl say that chogs would just spray bomber from d1.1-1.2, so bombers were helpless. Get rid of chog, get rid of stupid buff guns and AH return AH to being an actuall  sim with logic and realism.
