Cockpit and Map Shaking.
« on: May 30, 2002, 11:03:00 PM »
Just purchased new puter, D/L AH, was hoping for improved gameplay, and I'm beginning to think old puter was better.

My Cockpit shakes like I'm firing guns, when i'm not, Clipboard Map does this too. I'm running the game 1024x768?, with Mipmapping and Disabled palettized textures checked and the 32 bit box checked. When i'm in the tower i get 14-16 FPS. While Flying with Clutter on its at 12-16 FPS, when i get above Clutter Range It goes to 35-45 FPS.
My old puter kept a pretty good Frame rate at all times, except for the Screen Freezing.

Any tips?

Specs:

1.8 P4
512MB Ram
64mb nvidia Geforce 2 MX
Win XP
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I figured that this new puter would have DX8.1, and ill look for new Nvidia Drivers.

Thanks Skurj I'll check back.

Well it appears New Nvidia Drivers have cured my problem.

I'm still having frame rate issues, looks like I'll just have to play with clutter off for now.

Its wierd, I'm getting 14 FPS in tower, 24 in hangar, 40-50 while flying.
