Aces High Editor won't start please HELP!
« on: May 17, 2002, 03:56:05 PM »
When I open AH Map Editor the whole screen just goes white like it normally does but a error message pops up saying:

"AHeditor has caused an error in AHEDIT.EXE.
AHedit will now close.

If you continue to experiance problems,
try restarting your computer."

It doesnt make since, when I first downloaded it, it worked fine... but then it just bombed out and I've been getting this error message when I try and start it up ever since.

I've tried everything I can think of, Rebooting (of course),

playing with properties which has'nt helped any,
I
gnoring the error message but it still doesnt work cuz the error message just freezes the program while its still trying to open,

Reinstalling/Redownloading the Editor,

And sending an Email to HTC technical support but never got an answer

Can anyone help?????

Hi Cajun,
Try renaming the settings folder located in c:\programfiles\htc\aheditor to settings2. Then restart the editor and see if you get the error message. As for the email where exactly are you sending it? I have not received an email concerning the terrain editor, have you gotten a bounce back stating that the email would not go through?

Thanks! Now I just gotta learn how to use this thing lol :)

BTW I had just copy/pasted the message from another thread I wrote a while ago when I sent the email its been a month or 2 maybe more since I sent it, I think I sent it to technical support but not sure if it even got through.
