I have the same problem with people that employ stupids words to attack that i'm spanish. I can said that you begin that and i don't go to stop because you were an american (que miedo).

I don't think anyone implied you were stupid RatPenat, the problem is the number of Spaniards that came before you here and incessantly whined about the fm, dm, whatever you could possibly think of... and especially the German planes (typically Fws)...

So, in the end, I found two common points of similiarity between you, and a few other spaniards that have been here before you.

The only fault you have is that you believe harder means more realistic, certain planes are more dweeby than others, and that people should actually let you live when you called bingo or were damaged.

When the point of air combat is to shoot the other guy down, where's the combat in letting someone go?

Sorry, that's WWI chivalry.. WWII, well pilots got shot in their chutes... so finishing off a cripple or downing someone landing/taking off is all part of the simulation.

Not sure what you're tryin' to say, but I seldom honored "bingo" calls in AW. Sometimes, if the caller was someone I knew and respected, I would.

One thing I noticed when I was staff, was that in FR channel 1 was very little used - most people were tuned to squad channels, so any calls of "bingo" ammo/fuel etc were simply not seen! In many cases, the only time anyone tuned channel 1 (it was either/or in AW) was to either swap salutes, or exchange whines!

There were exceptions to this, of course, especially as numbers dwindled during the last year. I often stayed on channel one if there were no other Kraits on, and enjoyed the banter which happened occasionally...

Sometimes in AW when the hunting was slow, I'd give out false bingo calls over open channel knowing some dweeb Az or Bzlander would rise to the occasion and come looking for the free kill, only to find out that I wasn't a glider or out of ammo. Then the usual whine of "but you called BINGO!" would appear on the buffer after I shot them down. I don't know how many times I shot down Stigr or SkyCry (SkyKi) using that trick

Happy to find out it works in here too.

We had it once, "XXXX was shot down by XXX of the xxxxx squadron." but HTC took it out. Now the whole arena can still see you got a kill, but only the person you killed knows it was you who shot them down.

Hey All,

Flew AW for 4? ( I forget exactly how long) years. I too miss the "A kill has been recorded" message lol.

Flew RR and FR roughly 2 years for each one. AH flight model is quite a bit different than FR (RR is no comparison at all.) The AW FR model was really touchy in my opinion especially with spins however there was pretty much a control input formula that would always get ya out of a spin whereas in AH you really need to be careful about recovering. The gunnery in AW was quite a bit easier also since all guns were basically lazer guns, that coupled with the lead calculating sight made gunnery very very easy in AW vs AH. However as someone else mentioned the bullets pretty much dissappeared after max range was attained. To me the flight model and gunnery in AH is vastly superior (i.e. more fun lol). I think that the AH flight model is easier overall that FR AW and the gunnery model is much much harder overall than RR/FR gunnery model but way more realistic especially with regards to damage (I'll never forget first bomber I killed in AH, he broke in HALF.......unbelievable).
As far as the community aspect goes......... It seemed easier for some reason to find and make buds in AW than AH especially in different countries. I think probably that I haven't flown in here quite long enough to make a valid comparison (less than a year vs the 4 in AW). In other words I moved from a community where I was fairly well known since I had been there for some time to one where I was a total stranger, kinda like movin to another state lol. As far as the folks in AH, they seem to be real similar to the folks in AW, even before the big infusion of AW players (which is great in my opinion....the more the merrier.) I think probably that you will find a similar community as far as different types of players (organized/unorganized, point hounds/who-cares-lets-have-fun hounds etc) in any flight sim that is similar to the set up that AH has.
Try it for a while, give the game a chance and give the community a chance and you will love it......guarunteed. Its what AW used to be before it was ruined but with better programming, support and connections

AW vs AH?

AH is what AW was 10 years ago--it's the top of the heap. 10 years from now chances are some other game will have surpassed AH.

Personally I enjoyed AW more than any other computer game I've ever played, but this is irrevelant due to both the fact that AW is gone, and I no longer have the time to spend playing AH (which is why I haven't been posting here lately).
