Just one of those funny things that can happen.... :)

I had been involved in a failed port capture.  My "get home" gas was gone after I hung around following  a "The Goon is two minutes out!" message.

With 4 kills in the bag I spot some A/C upping from a near by carrier.  I made 3 runs on an F6F, who immediately U-turned for the TG AAA on every pass I made.  On the 3rd attack run, as I am zooming out, I see tracers.  One ping and my engine is leaking oil.  Checking six I see an F4U falling away, but still shooting at me.

Now, I have no gas and an engine that is slowly dieing.  I don't even hesitate.  I pull back on the stick and kick hard on the left rudder.  My F6F comes around, the nose falls, and down after the F4U I go.

It is just before dawn, still dark as hell.  So it takes me a bit longer than I would have liked to get shots on the F4U.  The F4U is doing micro warps and I can hardly see in the dark.  After I hit the F4U with the 3rd burst I once again see tracers flying past my window.  Lots of damn tracers!

Check six shows that I have at least 5 bandits close.  They all seem like the are just blasting away.  Tracers really show up very well at night, you can believe me.

Just off the deck, right about then I run out of gas.  Preparing to meet my maker, I punch on the AutoPilot, sit back my seat and wait for the endevitable to occur.

I watch in my six view, just to see who will put me down.  Much to my surprise, suddenly at least 2 bandits explode.  I see another bandit take damage, then vear sharply to the right, up and then sharply down.  He splashes into the sea.

Now, the stall buzzer is really making quite alot of noise.  A spit flies past me, swerving wilding to get me into his gunsights.  He can't quite seem to do it.  Spraying lead all the while.

I pull back on the stick real easy like.  I'm thinking that I might now get to ditch after all, but my F6F will have no part of it and just kind of vears off to the left.  Kersplash, into the drink I go.

Next I notice that the text buffer just simply lights up.  Victories by Mino just go streaming past.  "Victory 7 by Mino of 113..." was the last one I read.  There might have been 8 victories I'm not sure,  because now the text buffer lights up again.  My squadmates and several fellow Knights are sending me attaboys and WTG Mino's.

Right about then my girlfriend called me to dinner.  Still laughing and enjoying the moment, I pull myself away from my favorite game.

Thank goodness for KILLSHOOTER!

Enjoy....
