What a great Idea. While were at it...if you die and no one gave you a check 6 all pilots in the area that had a visual of you that DIDnt give a check 6 must log off and go stand in the corner. If you do that 3 times in 2 days then your account will be closed and all left over funds will go to Hitechs Bribe fund.Who cares if the goon comes in when its not clear yet.Make those people pay for not catering to the goon pilots. Its teamwork or no work at all.

As you can see, I never post, but this has stuck in my craw.

For the last few days, while bish momentum was high and we were taking several bases relatively quickly, a couple of really bright folks would take a goon to a nearby enemy base and circle for 15 minutes while screaming "38 is empty, I need a fighter to hit the town!" ad nauseum. This is annoying in and of itself.

What's worse is having to suffer through their crying for the next half hour about how "We have no teamwork" and "you morons don't want to take bases".

No crying. Please. Shut up and fly.

DAMN SKIPPY, KSB666!!!!  Let me know when you're in a goon Roy, I'll escort you with .50cals a blazing..............at your wing!

RUDE, this is BY FAR the Whine of the Week and a pathetic attempt to bring blame about friendlies.

You negated your "teamwork" statement by putting your frustrations first.  If YOU were a team player Roy, you wouldn't have posted that roadkill.  Don't preach teamwork in here and post mularkey about perk points!!!?

I'm the one that will go through a wall of fighters to bring goonies down, stupid?  Some may say so, then again, I can care less about perks, and I'll be up in my fighter and crusing along while you are taking off from the grass in your goonie.   Furthermore, supplies or troops are strained because of my stupidity.

every1 myself included will go after the goon either if he dies too or not. Primary target in that case is the goon and nothing alse

Well let me tell it this way: For succesfull goon protection, prolly the most important factor is the goon pilot himself. From my own experience in MA so far goons when Attacked by enemy fighter do just fly straight and in most cases they don't even bother to make any evasives (although C47 in AH is capable of doing quite pretty stuff). Second thing is when you in mission and there are planes specificaly assigned to goon protection they should sty with goons and not to fly away to vulch field while goons get slaughtered by some goon pickers ;)  (i love to pick goons...)

This whole thread is pretty stupid anyway. So saying it simple if you unable to protect your goon you wont get the capture... I think thats enough...

Nope.... cause.

1. only a skilled pilot can survive 3 or 4 zooms from some 1.

2. The main aspect to bring a goon into a town is unvisible for enema.

3. a spottet goon is a dead goon in 99%

Best protection for a goon would be...
« Reply #36 on: May 21, 2002, 07:59:35 AM »
stick a top turret on it with a rear firing gun.   C47's (some russian and finnish ones) were armed with them in WW2.    I think they were only rear firing though, not sure.

However... this post is hilarious.  :D

you assume that everyone gives a hoot about base capture all of the time. Sometimes I would just rather furball to my hearts content, and its my money, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. :)

Well said, I don't give a damn about field capture most of the time, if I see a friend in trouble I try and save him no matter he's in a goon or fighter or bomber, if he throws my attack and atempt to assist him away by turning hard etc he might as well stay down there.

>>Whenever a goon is shot down by an enemy fighter (not prox kiled or crashed) with all his troops, any friendly fighter plane within a half grid distance from him will lose 20 fighter perks. This is not ontop of what he already has made for the current sortie<<

Hmmm, kind of unfair to the guy who tried and the gooney was shot down anyway. I can think of many scenarios where this can, and has happened. It seems to me, it is not the guy who tries you would want to apply this to but, the guy(s) who routinely ignore protection of Gooneys so he can get kills or avoid being killed to protect K/D.

Roy, first off let me say, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.  Now that said, you stated:

>>>Since so few people protect goons, something must be done to insure this game remains team based and not a single player game, like many treat it.

How about this, HTC should reprogram the "check 6" warning for goon pilots.  When flying a goon and you see a con coming in you center the con just like you would a friendly for a check 6, but when you hit the key, all your fellow country players hear, "Whaaa, help me, help me, I'm going to die, I'm going to die, whaaaa".  To really make if effective the recording should be made by a whiney 5 year old.

So now we need to take some action:

I'll say!
Why they just scream "kill me" when worn with plaid golfer pants.

Fortunately the striped goons are easier to mix and match with, especially late in the year due to the fall colors most everyone wear.
