Wow!

Hi all,

I've been floating around for quite a while. I first flew online flight sims about 4 years ago. Flew WB for 2 years. Flew the very first day of AH and also for 6 months. Followed the developement of WBIII for another 2 years, but to all extents inactive during that time.

I just wanted to say how exciting the new developements in this sim look. The new 4 aircraft bomber formations to be introduced in 1.10 have really got me interested. I've read all the discussions on this and have my own opinions. Multi-buff wouldnt work in a strategy-less environment. However, the interlinked supply/ground setup in AH allows the introduction of this new feature in a proper setting.

In my opinion, this one new feature is introducting the first real new feature to online flight simming in the last 4 years. This is not a step away from interactivity, this is a huge leap forwards in the more realistic simulation of WWII air combat. The ability to cater for both the action-man crowd and the holodeck simmers is quite an achievement.

These days I get to fly real planes, rather than have to satisfy myself soley on books and flight sims (The guy who sold Pyro on snappier aileron reponse, which is SO diffecrent to WBIII was actually the owner of the aircraft I soloed on )
, so why would I consider re-joining AH? Because it looks new and interesting!

I'm starting to think..... maybe I WOULD like to grab me one of those 262 thingies (by earning it). I rememeber reading a history book about a guy who flew 262s down south somewhere. They were so valuable that if you lost one in training, then you go washed out of training school. Reading the thread http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=53707 really made me laugh and think of that.

So.... what looks cool?

1. A good strategy model.
2. A massive step towards realistic strategic bombing ie actually getting enough bombers in formation for a mass raid.
3. A reward for investing time in flying through the perk system.

So........ I'm in no hurry, but when 1.10 is out, I'm going to go for an online test flight.

the connects are not too bad from here also (Australia) - think you are an aussie if my memory is correct.

I've been averaging 380 odd with no warps (except for prime time US with 450 people in the arena - think almost everyone sees a few then)

I really hope HT will add some new sounds to 1.10. Imagine a flight of 4 human pilots manning 16 Lancs unloading 18 bombs each at the same time. It should give a whole new meaning to "whine of the week".
