Concerning Football World Cup.

Russian National Football team planned to leave Moscow for Japan on Saturday morning. The departure is moved to Friday evening.

Guess why?

Honorable President Bush jr. leaves Moscow on Saturday. All air departures and arrivals to Moscow on Saturday are cancelled because of that.

We had the same thing when the Beloved Leader of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea visited Russia. He travelled by train, so we had all routes from Yaroslavl railway terminal in Moscow postponed by 6 hours.

Can you imagine all air traffic in DC being cancelled because of mr. Putin visiting US of A?!

Get your Chechens under control and I'm sure Bush won't need so much security.

And I'm sure if terrorists had attempted to take out Putin with airliners there might be similar precautions taken when he travels by air.

But seriously, Presidential travel causes the same kind of thing here in the USA.  It's a pain in the bellybutton whenever the President visits.  The worst was when Clinton visited us at U. of Illinois, and his plane got stuck in the mud and they shut down our airport for a day or two.

And let's face it, Bush is a more important and more attractive target than Putin.  It makes sense that Bush would need more security arrangements.  Putin has pissed off people in many former SSRs, but Bush has pissed off people all over the planet.  :)

Japan asked us to do this so the schedule of the Russian team would be thrown off, and possibly give Japan a chance to win their Group H game vs Russia.  S. Korea is also involved in this deal, as they as the other host nation will poison Portugal's and Poland's food supplies so that the USA and S. Korea will easily advance out of Group D.  The USA will in turn support S. Korea's desire to eat dog.  :D

Funked, the FHR HQ is situated on the "governmental route", and we suffer from traffic jams whenever any foreign brass hat visits Moscow State University or any state guest-apartments at the Kosygin street. But it's the second time I know when such a visit interferes with intercity traffic.

We have a special airport for such guests, Vnukovo-2, with separate runway, but it's not enough for HIM. At least Kim Chen Ir blocked only one of nine railway terminals in Moscow, while mr. Bush blocks all airspace over Moscow.

Well... We are "allies" in a "war against terrorism"... Hope we'll not have to pay to such "allies" as we did after GPW...

Funked, we helped Northern Alliance during US operation in Afghanistan. Helped with armoury and advisors. At the very same time US officials shook hands with Chechen representatives and stated that Russia uses "extreme violance" in Chechnya.

do you still think we are "allies"?

My point Beardy, is that at the end of the day, the choice to close air traffic to Moscow is the Russian governments. They could say no. They made the choice to say yes.

And you should be lucky to have to "pay" for Allies like in the GPW, at the end of that you had dominion over all of Eastern Europe, and half of Germany.

This is SICK

Whatever you say... this is sick... I can imagine how pissed i would be if it happened in Warsaw. You can say - "who cares about Warsaw?". I do.

And give Mr. Boroda a brake. It's not his fault that it pissed him off. It's His gov. who made this unbelievably stupid decision and agreed on that. If Bush really wants to come to Mascow,  he should do it with a style. Don't expect Russians to love him after that :)

IIRC we closed down ALL OF DISNEYLAND so Kruschev could visit. How can you compare that to a few grounded rusky planes?
