Hi!
Does anyone know how many hits it requires to sink a carrier or battleship from a shore battery?

Is there some kind of page with other damage statistics available?

Don't know of any source for that kind of material. I just tried in a perfect setup. Took 13 direct hits (yellow flash) and 3 close misses. (Splashed water on them)

Was a lot more than I expected.

Tip, to aim at a distance, zoom in a bit. Raise the crosshairs above the horizon line. Fire a shot, without moving the joystick, put your mouse button on the waterspout. Now you have a rough aiming point. For carriers shoot just in front of the bows to hit the tower midships.

Thats good advice ghosth. I have never been able to use shore batteries and now hopefully i will beable too.

For long range shots, I do almost the same as this...I put my mouse cursor on the centre of the crosshair first thing, then hit zoom, zoom all the way in, then hit F8 Pan View, and pan my view down.......you now have a maximum zoom sight for long range shots.

Hope someone finds that usefull.....I do

There are a couple of other places the mouse pointer can come in handy. Pt boat, set mouse pointer in center of 20mm sight. Then you have sight for rockets & bow 37mm.

Used to use the mouse point in Ostwind extensivly.
Set pointer on center, then raise head (page up).
Better view, and easier to track crossing planes.
