Sending those 2 flight missions was sneaky of you ripsnort! One heavy fighter to cap the ack, then a c47 to goon! Would have lost the critical main island had we not figured it out sooner!

Oh, by the way,

It was a tactical mistake to capture p20 from the bishops.

Had you not taken that field, we would have had to go through knit territory to capture it before we could win the war.

That and the capture of 16 were defintely turning points in the battle. Without those two events, we'd have never stood a chance.

I log on, look for the biggest, ugliest red zit on the face of the map, and take off from the nearest airfield that gives me a reasonable chance to get the wheels up before I get vultched. Beyond that I don't care who I'm fighting.

Often, I'll take eggs, even if no one else is. I know that sooner or later other squaddies will be online, or I or some of the regulars will get their stuff together and do a good coordinated strike.

So it's all about who is setting it up, basically.

Right on santa.... this touches on one of the aspects that really ticks people off about 'missions' and 'teamwork'... and thats 'Generals'.

Line 'em up and shoot 'em.. make sure they are right behind the lawyers and politicans, but for godsakes make sure yah shoot the fediddlein 'Generals'.

I try to explain the threat; the intended response; a brief desc of the flights target, the composition the strike.. ask for pilots give the start time and field location, ect etc etc. it's hard fediddlein work, too. Yah spend a LOT of your on line time with yer head scrunched over the keyboard; typing poorly and furiously with two fingers whilst you watch the map and textbox developments, keeping a big board strat picture goin while flying is damn near impossibe. Fun in a sick way; but dammed hard.

I figure if nobody else in bishland flying when I'm on is coaching, I'll eyeball the big board fer a bit and start 'spaining what I'm up to, then putting up missions for no other reason than it'll give the guys (like me) who wanna fly more realistic mission profiles than "furball over a1" and it gives those guys an opportunity to group up with others that have a similar intrest.. who wants to die alone attacking a field?

Fly missions. Arrive alive, get kills, go home alive. The day of the singleton and stalking wing pair ain't over, but now there's something ELSE to do.

Moose, I was up 'til 2:00 am (pst)and helped capture A17.  After we got it, I never noticed a reset. I thought we needed to take another target.  Did it reset after all and how does it do that (I mean, I'm flying over friendly territory 1 minute and the next I'm deep in Knight territory???)

Wegaman... come on now. I posted a few threads along these same lines a couple weeks ago.

Most people in the MA don't know how to get organized, they don't want to wait for missions to start, thet don't want to be given orders, they don't want to fly a C47, thet don't want to get with a wingman and they won't until they want to.

It is a frustrating thing sometimes. For now I am just living with it.

If you want to capture someplace, you pretty much hve to take it upon yourself to get it done. Otherwise, it isn't going to happen.

I have found if I go and capture a few bases on my own, I usually get help with the 3rd and 4th ones.

Quick and organized wins the fight. Every other way usually results in a long drawn out fight going on for hours with neiter side getting anywhere

     Maybe try forming a squadron or joining one of the many fine existing ones that hold regular organized squad nights.
     There are many great pilots flying around at any given time but MY crew are the only ones I EVER count on.

You just don't get it. Everyone is not here to make your experience better, they are here to enjoy themselves in any manner they see fit.

Try reading my take on this:

"Just as you are about to blow off some stress from the day, you know, you found a number of game opponents, some moron in a B-17 comes over and mindlessly presses his bomb-release button, dropping the hangars. Now you have to move to another base and find more interesting digs."

Now I don't really look at it this way, but your assessment of the MA sure says that about people that don't do your thing. Heck, I don't know why I'm even trying to discuss this. I do know this; the more I read this kind of stuff in the buffer, the far less likely I will ever get involved in an organized mission.
