BMW R100RT was mine. he died on 28th march 2002 when a knobhead in a Volvo u-turned into my path. I broke my throttle arm and had to lay off AH for a month! (but I bought a Killah Laptop with the insurance money!) I've decided to give up now because I look at my 2 kidlets and worry about how easy it is to get F*****d up.

Currently have a BMW K75RT. No photo :(

Spent 12 years riding a Kawasaki KZ1000P and got paid for it. :P

Stopped after totalling out a Mustang driven by a college kid here on daddies money who turned left in front of me. Was disabled and couldn't return to street duty. Had to hang up the foot boards and let the career go.

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Shouldn't you work on getting your Hemi out of impound before you start looking at bikes?

Not an easy question to answer Joe...

What style of bike appeals to you? and Why?

racer style, Ninja's GSXR, R1 etc are not the best for puttering around town, or hitting those straight boring highways.  They can be killer in insurance too

Cruiser's like harley davidsons, don't turn well, but offer a low seat height and are fairly comfy around town.  Sometimes the laid back seat position can be hard on the arms on a long trip

Tourers like the gold wing etc... well with all them fairings.. is it really a bike??  +) weigh a ton, probably cost 20k+ nowadays

standard  like the gpz1100 (i think thats its name) and there are several others on the market, the katana's of like 6 years ago come to mind here as well.  Not as extreme as the race bikes, usually using proven mechanicals(ie older technology of last generation racer bikes) offer more comfort than racers and a much nicer price tag

dual purpose, dirt bikes for the street... not worth trying to head down the highway on one of these unless you are looking at some of the big ones like the BMW

too much typin

BIKES are EXTREMELY FUN!!!!

BUT Riding on public roads is EXTREMELY DNAGEROUS.....

RACE your sport bike on a closed race track..THAT IS THE BEST,,,I race..nothen bettr then that.........but does cost money......but is will sbve you form those A-Holes who turn left in front of you......Famous quote in the Life of BiGB....my first Moto accident/////....old lady get s out of here full size Lincoln sedan while im laying on ground and says..."OOOO I was changing my radio station"....she is so lucky i was more angry about my RD then her health cause I wanted to strangle her when she said that...

Triumph Trident T150V here,

One of the many bikes which was going to save the British motorcycle industry in the 70's (Not).

0-60 4.8 seconds (Apparently)
Top speed 135mph, (Never got it over 125mph on the speedo).

Fell off it once at 106mph (Validated by the boys in blue, still got the scars lol)

Lot of fun though :D
