Not an easy question to answer Joe...
What style of bike appeals to you? and Why?
racer style, Ninja's GSXR, R1 etc are not the best for puttering around town, or hitting those straight boring highways. They can be killer in insurance too
Cruiser's like harley davidsons, don't turn well, but offer a low seat height and are fairly comfy around town. Sometimes the laid back seat position can be hard on the arms on a long trip
Tourers like the gold wing etc... well with all them fairings.. is it really a bike?? +) weigh a ton, probably cost 20k+ nowadays
standard like the gpz1100 (i think thats its name) and there are several others on the market, the katana's of like 6 years ago come to mind here as well. Not as extreme as the race bikes, usually using proven mechanicals(ie older technology of last generation racer bikes) offer more comfort than racers and a much nicer price tag
dual purpose, dirt bikes for the street... not worth trying to head down the highway on one of these unless you are looking at some of the big ones like the BMW
too much typin
