I bought a set of the Vario Pros to go with my Cougar.  If you're getting it for a Cougar setup make sure to get a gameport version as that can plug right into the Cougar.  Then it'll just be added as an additional axis on the Cougar and you won't have to worry about multiple device hassles.

I am quite pleased with the Vario Pro pedals.

It rotates around a center axis for rudder deflection right?

As to forward/backward sliding of CH Pedals.
