Here's a very interesting and eye opening book: Red Tails Black Wings by John B. Holway. It's one of those reads where you start and you just can't stop.. kinda grabs you if you know what I mean. It's about the 332nd Fighter Group of the 8th USAAF of WWII. Pretty amazing what they did if you ask me.
If you need an excerpt from it to convince you I'll find one and put it up here! :-)

Yes, Pretty amazing what they did if you ask me too.

Having met several member of the 332nd FG, these true heros are some on the nicest and most humble men I have ever met.

Has  anyone read the new one called "The Flag our Fathers flew" ? (Picture of Iwo Jima flag hoisting on the cover) I saw it in the train depot in the number 1 best seller spot...

I believe it is called "Flags of Our Fathers", and was written by James Bradley and Ron Powers (who is the son of one of the marines in that picture)...

It is supposed to be quite good - you can get it at amazon.com

As far as good reads, I'm about done with Citizen Soldiers by Stephen Ambrose, and it's great.

James Bradley is also the son of one of the Iwo Jima flag raisers.

Citizen Soilder was an AWSOME book!
I dont think our youth today would be able to do what those good men did in the trenches. I doubt I could have done it.
