I have been noticing a tendancy for some serious imbalances in country numbers at times.  I would like to discuss with my squad maybe shifting countries on an occasion to help even the numbers, but I am reluctant to do this because of the 12hr "lock" when you change countries.

We (the MOL squad) normally fly rook, and if we have to suffer this lock for this long of a period, we could quickly become fragmented all over the place.

What would the community think about maybe changing the time lock to a shorter period?
Maybe 2 hours?

It might be something we could give a try, allow a shorter lock to help alleviate the unbalance.

If that were to happen you might as well throw the mission editor in the dust bin. As it is now I have heard folks on open, stating that the mass showing on dar isnt going to "X"s HQ because the mission isnt for another hour (this from another teams player)

Yep the 12 hour lock out should stay, Jimbear hit the nail on the head.

<S> to you and your squad for trying to do the right thing and balance the countries but it would cause so much grief if the limit were to be lowered.

Dago, I'd wondered since Monday if you or Popeye would consider a country swap to help even things out. I'm all for it. I'm not glued to a country color or badge as much as I am to the squad. All the targets are hi lighted in red to my eyes!     It would be nice to fight against folks who have been Rooks for so long too  that I've never run into adversarially before.

Six hours might be a good compromise.  That would allow me to switch to the underdog on Friday night, and back to Rooks on Saturday morning.

I doubt if too many spies are gonna wait around for six hours to rat out a mission.
