Falcon 4.0 SuperPAK 3 released
« on: June 04, 2002, 10:32:06 AM »
Don't know if any of you guys play it or used to play it but I'm going to give Falcon 4.0 another go after a few years away from it. Used to be a fan of the Falcon series and played Falcon 3.0 H2H over a BBS that used to run in the UK called the H2H BBS. Falcon 4.0 was far from finished when it was released and many like myself just put it on the shelf to perhaps come back to later when it was fixed...well boy has it been fixed!

New DX8 graphics integration which Falcon 4.0 really needed to bring it up to todays standard, a new clean user friendly UI loads of bug fixes and enhanced avionics.

The F4UT team announced the release today on their web-site here and you can find a nice list of mirror's for the 76MB download here. If you have Falcon 4.0 and not played it for a while do yourself a favour and grab this file and dust of that CD :)

I haven't played that simulation in a long time, maybe 2 years.  Since I'm more of a jet-jockey than a prop-head, I'm gonna download the file and try it out.  I'm very rusty but would love to try some co-op mission in Falcon4 if anyone sets one up.

It takes a college degree to figure out that radar in the Falcon 4.

Revvin,

Does that one file go over a clean install of the original release or does a fella need to install a zillion patches first?

Just install Falcon 4.0 and apply the last official v1.08US patch and then apply the SuperPAK thats it. If you need the v1.08US you can find it here

Didn't really get to use it for long, but SP3 rocks! SP2 was a little buggy from the moment I got flying, but SP3 is kicking butt.

My BBS is still running  :)

telnet:  bbs.checksix.net
web http://www.checksix.net

Online since 1990   :D

SOB and the guys play the Legend of the Red Dragon game on mine...I used to have that program that allowed online play for Falcon and others (Doom, etc)...was fairly easy to make work too!

I'll never forget the night I found out about DWANGO on AOL of all places.  Then to find out that DWANGO's main office was 2 miles from my house :D  The day I learned that doom/doom2 were multiplayer is the day my life changed.  Hehehe used to pay $2/hr just to play 4 player doom over the phone line.  My roommate payed $2/hr plus long distance fees which were outrageous  back then.

ahhh the good ole days :)

Geeze....

Just installed the damned thing after two years and Im blown away more now than ever.  Thanks to rude and toad my system is a tad bit better than it used to be

Runs like a dream.  And that manual...whew!
The radar alone will take weeks and many hours to master!

Im jazzed again and ill be busy with this for a good few months :)
