no "official" patches that I'm aware of.  However, there are tons of user mods for the game.

I can't find the links for the 1% aircraft (supposedly aircraft who's data settings are within 1% of the real life performance).

ahh, just found it.

http://www.avhistory.org/  try this.

There are few amazing planes like R4D (DC-3) and Fouga Magister thought both are +20megs... :)

The http://www.avhistory.org 1% planes make great AI planes, too.  Their library is growing quickly, too.

I've d/led jets from http://www.avsim.com and made a few guns-only Red Flag exercises using F-15s, F-16s, F-4s, MiG-21s, Sabres, MiG-17s and such.

I'd probably do CFS2 more if I wasn't so hooked on Aces High.

Wow, I just dug up my MS Combat Flight Sim 2 package...I hadn't bothered to install it on my P3 550 but its really really runs well on my AMD Athlon XP 2000+.

Thanks for the links.  Flying around the F4U-1 in free flight is cool...watching shells eject as I fire...wow....

I recall the first version and the add ons.  And the online play.  I recall I'd bought some package of aircraft add-ons and was surprised they worked in the online arenas.  So, my mind began to wander and low and behold, a F/A-18 was on the CD...AND it worked in the MS Arenas.  Well it was fun while it lasted having an F-18 in a Spitfire/109 room.  I started off just making fast passes and laughing til I was in tears watching the chat buffer scroll along with "Who the f**k was that?  Was that an F-18?"  "I think so"  "Wholly crap, he's fast" "Dammit he got me again"  hehe, I think my account is still banned, but dammit, it was the best fun!
