Since I gripe about them a lot, it's only fair that I note that they are improved a bit in this release.  I drove around and fought a little in them today, and I noticed a whole bunch of nice changes in the way the turret and gun(s) work, how the icons work, etc.  The vehicle physics model still needs work but they are getting closer to not being dweebhicles.

You really ought to try one of the tank vs tank events we've been running in the SEA sometime.

Watch here for advance notice of the next one.

Yeah tanks are great fun. I took part in one of the tank v tank SEA events and it was a blast.

It'll be even more interesting when we get some GREEN tanks. At the moment the Panzer stands out like a sore thumb, but even then it is more than possible to play 'hide & seek' around airbases in them. M16s meanwhile just seem to vanish at times because they blend in to the background much more easily and more much quicker.

ie. spot them from the cupola MG position, just to the gunner position and slew the turret around to where you  think they were and now you can't find them anymore =)

Killing fighter hangers at a field from just beyord AAA range is great fun too, I just wish there wasn't the line of smake from the shell pointing right back to you as you're doing this (a cloud of smoke from the gun muzzle would be better). I've even managed to hit a AAA with the first round too, once =)

Anyway, I'm rambling, they're a blast especially in groups when you're using Roger Wilco.

Brought down hangars and ack (with the considerable help of a B26) of a medium sized base the other day. I rolled onto the field short of ammo, and couldn't kill the planes spawning after the hangars popped back up (hoped to scare them into staying down). Had we had more attention from our own country we would have easily owned the fields.

As I see it, the best way to defend a base (if the fighter hangars are down) is to grab about 5-10 panzers and spread out. No gooney or M3 is getting in, and it would take a lot of fighters a lot of passes to get all the panzers. For this reason, if I am bombing, the first hangar I hit is the Vhangar. Nothing is scarier than to bring a goon in and see a panzer sitting right next to the map room.

Actually had an M16 take out my tank treads last night, when I realized he was behind me at point blank range (was busy with other enemy tanks) it was too late, and left side of tank drooped from tread being knocked off...As I turned the gun around, he ran like a M-F, I felt it was my duty as a German Officer to do only one thing, give him a 75MM round right up the exhaust pipe!
