Mouse and Joystick help

I accidentally recalibrated the mouse, now whenever I move it, the thing makes flight controls move full in one direction, no in between. How can I reset the mouse? I already tried reinstalling and recalibrating. Also, I have an old MS sidewinder 3D pro I'm trying to hook up to my machine, with Windows 98 running. I downloaded the latest patch from Microsoft, but the computer won't find the stick, any help in the hardware dept. about how to find rando devices? thanks.

The easiest way is to just open my computer, go to c:\program files \ htc \ aceshigh and rename the settings folder.
Then restart the game.
