If you are budget conscious try the Matchbox Collectors series 1:72 scale planes. I have an F6 that is very nice, and they sell for $15 new in the box.

I got that set, subscribed to MAtchbox and they shipped one a month. Good looking planes, cheezy stands

WWII aviation display is "behind" the carrier, and naval aviation display is in front of the carrier... or the opposite direction of the second picture... and there's a Spitfire nose you can make out in the first picture towards the middle/top of the display case.

And towards the right of where these pictures were taken, where the banister is... there use to be an Ar234 on display on the ground level, and a P40 hanging there shortly after the 234 was moved.
