Question on Clutter Shapes
« on: June 18, 2002, 01:54:22 PM »
Is there a way to set how many Clutter shapes I want in a tile? ei I want just a few scattered trees here and there in my farm lands, but I don't want a huge forest.  Is there any way to do this?

No, but there is a work around.... set the tile with small bush clutter ( can't remember the clutter shape number... maybe CG0001)  Then goto objects and  set 'SOME" trees I like the "delicious" and set them where you want them. Now this may cause a problem with the 10,000 object limit, so be carefull where and how many you place. I "think" clutter trees if used as clutter doesn't add to the 10,000 objects limit, but setting them individually does.  Get all that?????

OK, set the tile you want very sparse trees to clutter shape that has the small bushes, Now trees can be placed just like an airfield. The trees, rocks even the snow men have their very own object shape number and can be placed any where you want them. I think "delicious trees" are object number cg0005 I could be wrong, i'm at work and not on my gaming computer. But the trees or ANY object thats in AH can be individually placed. when you go into the objects window the tree shape number is in the left hand side window look for the tree you want and place it to terrain alt. Now if you want a more dense tree look use the tree clutter for that tile and add more individually, but beware it is time consuming and there is a 10,000 object limit. I think if you place a tree individually by the object window that counts as 1 object, If you use the same tree as a clutter in the tile it doesn't add to the 10,000 object limit..... I Think..... HiTech could give the correct answer.
