A Note to the CM's of the SEA
« on: September 01, 2000, 10:49:00 AM »
Hi Guys,

I just wanted to suggest that we try and plan our events alittle better for more fun.

If trying to do a "BOB" event, I think that the LW should have to take b26 (until LW bombers come out) and have a max ceiling of say 15K and be escorted by 109E's or F's,
the allies should be restricted to Spit V's and the "main thrust" should be on saving or killing the bombers (depending on who you are flying for).  The bombers score MAJOR points for hitting the target and getting home, the Spits score MAJOR points for killing the bombers.  These are the "types" of senario's I think that would take the focus off "dog fighting" and bring us back to the real job of the LW in BOB while making a more even "Plane match up" and therefore more fun I think.  In other words don't just setup a Spit IX vs 190 A5 event and call it a representation of "BOB" when in reality it is far from the R/L objectives of the time in which these planes fought.

I am not trying to be too critical because I know it takes alot of work and you guys have done some fine work, I just think if we put alittle more thought into it we can get what we all want, a historical and FUN event.

B26 flies too fast.  Mayber after take off limit operation to only 1 engine.

Bigjim,

Thanks for the post.  We have lots of items in the fire right now and I can say you will enjoy all if not most of them.    Like you I love the "historical events" and most of the CM's do too!
