If I programme the ANT and RNG controls to trim elevator and aileron in AH, will the trim indicators still register in the cockpit? I suspect not since you are not actually asigning RNG and ANT to keystrokes. Am I right?

Thnx

FOGOLD,

If you program the ANT and RANGE to send key strokes your trim indicators will move.  If you use Cougar Trim, you are just changing the joystick trim (or stick centering) and that will not move the trim indicators.

I suggest using the in-game trim and auto pilots as the primary way to trim your aircraft.  The Cougar Trim comes in handy when your doing someting like trying to make a slow turn and you need to take your hands off the stick.  Or if your aircraft is damaged and in-game trim is not enough to center your stick.

Got it. The other thing I'm still confused about is if you set a programme in Cougar for AH for just a few keystrokes, will all the stick mapping in AH be diasabled?

Does the Cougar programme have priority over AH settings or can you have both?

FOGOLD,

You have to use the AH stick mapping.  As an example, I changed my Check Six command to the keypad period (KP.)  So I need my Cougar program to send a KP. to send a Check Six.

This gives you a lot of flexibility in programming.  You can even map commands in AH to Joysick buttons, and program any button on your Cougar to that button.  I did this for some things that may fill my text buffer with keyboard charactors when I try to type a message.

The only downside to this is if you give someone your program to use, you will need to let them know the keymap changes they need to make in the game.  Foxy lets associate a Read Me text file with your program along with a graphic.  This is a good place to record this information.

I attached my current files if your interested in any examples of what you can do.  It's a work in progress, but fully functional.

The file is too large to attach, I put it on my web page here:

AH.zip

I am working on a channel changer that uses the S3/T5 key as a tuner button for my mic button.  It will flash the Cap Lock led on the keyboard once when it is on the tuned channel, twice when it is on the local channel.  This isn't documented in the text yet.

Good luck :)
