Why do you need more players? I thought WW2OL had THOUSANDS of players on the server 24 hours a day? LMAO.

CRS won't get another penny from me. Nothing like beta testing a product for 6 months and not have the company listen to a whoopee thing you tell them. Then I went out like an idiot and bought a worthless drink coaster that is only about half the program I need to play the damn game. WW2OL is on the outer swirl of the toilet my friend, and you posting here isn't going to change that.

always good to hear from those who are on the  cutting edge. Raub, lots of changes sincee December(6 months play), the freebie will be a free d/l of the full sim. Just like last time.

Raub, I have fun in ww2ol, a lot of ppl here flew warbirds with me, I reaally want to have some combat with them. WW2OL isnt gonna die if I am not here. Lot ppl might like to see some AH on ww2ol. These two sims aren't really in competition with each other..more like two slightly differecnt niches.

Hell I've been trying it since it's been free but it's still the same crap it was before just a few more trees and bushs.

They still won't get a penny from me till they do away with spawn limits.
I have been reborn a new man!

Notice I never said a better man.

sorry to hear that..but spawn limits are in to stay, and attritiion is comoing next release. One of the big complaints in the first months was no spawn limits alliowing chars, chars, chars. Guess you can't please everyone.

Heya Hardcase, I'd like to try it again but from what I've read the flight modell sucks big time, the dammage modell when attacking planes sure LOOKS nice (shoot shoot smoke puff smoke puff BIG SMOKE CLOUD).

Also, do I still need a super silicon valley 12gb ram computer to play it? I saw some pics with about 10 HE111's on it and nobody who had taken screens had better then 22fps, and all those were with blue air only (except for the 10 planes).

Oy Wilbus

I've tried the latest version.  FM is still weird...  Planes still dissappear, Frame rates are still poor, Frame pauses are still an issue

I have an XP1800 and a GF4 MX440 with 512mb ram, I get frame rates around 10-20 in combat online in ww2ol, 50+ offline...

Hiya wilbus. I have it running on 3 systems. an atalon 1.4tbird/512 megs ram /GF2 Ti 64megDDR card--- 30's or so average fps

An un-HP'd HP P3 800 384 megs pc133 ram/ GF2 mx400 PCI card. get in the lower to mid 20's average

and an old gateway with an Abit bx6 Mobo/ Powerleap 1.3 chip/ GF2 Ti 64 meg VC/ 384 megs PC133 ram. Getting about mid to upper 20's with this one.Old setup this Pc was P3 450/ same ram/GF2 Mx 400 64 meg card. Was getting low to mid teens before chunkin her up to a 1.3 and new card.

Newer build seems to be a lot more system/memory friendly.:)

 >>>IMO<<< GF3's and 4"s are still not producing the performance which all the hoopla was made out to be. I've been holding off buying one till there is ANY reason to do so. I have the best luck with the GF2 Ti 64 meg series cards in wwiiol, AH, WB's, Nascar2002 and GPL than any of the others. And they can be had now for about 70 bucks.Heheh  I have a GF3, which I stuck in a Duron 900 system I biuilt for my father...cause it did'nt perform...and I did'nt think you should have to tweak till you blue in the face to make it work.Hehe..funny thing is, he's tried a couple online sims...and now I have to go throught the card swap with his machine.

Best thing I could tell ya is DL the thing and try it for yourself. Depending on how your system is setup you may get better  or worse results than ANYBODY. And there are things you can do , as in any MMP sim,to tweak the performance out of it. GL sir

EDIT-- Just saw your sys specs. You SHOULD have no problems.Wait for the freebie and the Dl and give it a whirl.

Ok thanks :)

I (shhhh) was in the Beta (very late beta) and used a P3 450 with 384mb 100mhz RAM, with more then one other person near me in a town I had 0.01 - 1 Fps.

Will test the freebie, will it be like AH 2 week?

SK...system specs and fps are meaningless unless you specify your settings and resolution..we have guy complaining about low fps and then find out they are running high Visual and 1600 resolution.:-)

wilbus, you should be able to play the ground war, some tweaking, run High Performance settings, 3d sound off,No Lock to refresh Checked. if you have an Nvidia card they optimize at 1024 resolution, voices to 8,only box checked in Textures is Reduce Textures. Give it a try,  lot of ppl will help you setup.

2week trial will probably be pretty close to the same setup. Dl and create an acct wothout credit card...then apply credit card after for pay to play.

I really enjoy just flying in there.Even though the FM's might not be up to par as to what we are used to in AH and WB's. The fact that it does'nt have inflight radar means that you have to actually look at the map, plot your course, and be fuel concious if your intended target is some distance. Its a little more challenging and immersive IMO.And its also nice to know that your enemy has the same disadvantages.Plus the damage effects are really cool. And I like the way that stress is put on the pilot when pulling heavy g's ect. This creates a whole new ballgame for tactics. The flight models are coming along tho.The last build saw correct weight /load added for bombloads on pretty much all the ac. Now when your chasing a Stuka carrying bombs, he cant go into 10 successive loops. If he wants to try and evade, he has to drop his load..really cool when you flying a spit or hurri cause if he does'nt he becomes easy meat.

But untill the allied heavies arrive, I am mostly on the ground. But sneaky NOE Blenheim strikes are pretty dang cool too.You really get the "feel" of speed and motion otd like I've seen nowhere else.

Funny thing with the P3 450 and how it changes tactics. I was getting bad studders in furballs...so they were out.It left me with only the option to hang way above the fight and wait for stragglers.Which in itself was kinda fun...and I seemed to be getting more kills and my bellybutton handed to me less. :D

i am runnin 1024x768x32bpp
which i assume is a typical minimum these days

i could save probably a few fps by playing in 16bit colour but ww2ol still doesn't like anything less than 32bit zbuffer it appears

I get sawtooth and vanishing textures on any less than 32 bit, and always have since beta of ww2ol, and thats on more than one system
