12k posts?!  I know I don't frequent AH much these days (though I like to think of it as an old stomping ground), but you really need to read a book or something ;)

Seriously, hope all is going well here.  I don't 'fly' much anywhere these days, just busy being a dad, and working on an article on Soviet operational art (big surprise there.  Recently, in the SimHQ forum I was called the 'master of all Russian Lies'.  Flattering, to say the least ;) ).  Good to see Dale and Doug's venture is so popular - they deserve it.

Hey Leonid!

I just got back online in il2: hoping to get together with Oryx this weekend: I'm on my old ICQ number.

Hope you and your family are well!

Hi Pei!

Glad to hear you're still at it with il2.  I play from time to time, though maybe there'll be more of it in the future.  Right now I'm trying to finish this article that does a comparative study of the German Blitzkrieg combined arms concept and Soviet operational art.  Hopefully, this article will open some eyes wrt the different methodologies developed by the Germans (and belatedly by the western Allies) and, more importantly, the Soviets.  While it's common knowledge within the academic military historical community, such knowledge is still surprisingly little known among the general populace.
