Ok heres something I dont get. When does it count as a safe ditch and when does someone get an undeserved kill or a deserved kill in some cases. I have always assumed that in icon range at least if you have vis on an enemy and have to ditch it counts as a kill for him. Thursday I was flying off of the Rooks mindinao a7 in a 109g2 I saw a low niki went in got a few solid hits in, now reversing slowly to save enough E so to get away if needed I turn in, but I see he is ditching in the water so I steepen my dive and start shooting at d1000 and gets hit sprites. The niki then disapearred he got away no kill was awarded to anyone. Coming back a few minutes later in a 109g6 same thing low niki I hit him enough and before I reverse and get back he vanishes at d700 getting again clean away. Now I am not upset about losing those 2 kills as I am about the inconsistancy of what is a ditch and what is a kill. When flying the 109g6 that missed the niki later I was hit by a zeke he gave me a pilot wound I decided to fly back to base, no one was following me I made it 3/4 of the way back to a1 from a7, when I decided I was blacking out too much so I trimmed her and cut throttle so it would land itself. After a safe landing I was waiting a bit just for a bigger chance that the guy that got me would be nailed and looking around no cons in sector and the base wasnt flashing figuring I am safe. After about a minute though I got bored and hit tower. System so and so shot you down, apparently he gets a kill. That night I was fighting a p38 in a 109e and ran out of gas he never hit me and as we were pretty low I figured I would ditch give him the freebie and come back in an equal plane. I land, stop, hit tower just as he strafes me no kill for him. Last night was vulching and ran out of gas again no con hit me landed on the enemy runway as our capture of it was imminent I misjudged my speed because it was night so I rolled off far side of runway and hit the tower, System so and so shot you down. This is rather confusing sometimes your shot up and land and get a ditch sometimes your not and you get a death, sometimes you are close and he gets away, sometimes no one in sight you get a death.
