Maybe one or more of these might be a useful small addition (and no we aren't talking aircraft):

1) Ground based Shooting Target.  The floating target in the sky is ok but it's nearly impossible to line it up properly to adjust sights.  How azbout a ground based one that jacks the tail up automatically to center and holds you still like in real life.  Same deal as the .target command with adjustable ranges but this one wouldn't be affected by plane motion.

2) A ammo load % where you could automatically only load a % of the total.  I know people who fire off 7.7mm, why not just let them take 0%?  Don't remove the guns if that's too much hassle, just remove the ammo.

3) A setting so the offline drones can be a plane other than the P-51.  I'd love to build up my tactics for attacking bombers from high angle attacks... I'd love to see B-17's or any other plane fly a nice circular track like that.  All they need to do is circle around in the same aimless fashion but at least I'd get used to attacking larger targets.

4) A plane damage button (maybe it's already there but I don't know).  Where you could intentionally damage a plane component with a dot command.  I often have to fly home beat up planes missing parts and wouldn't mind a way to get a feel for specific types of damage.

5) A last sortie log that records, take-off time (use whatever time you want), all kill and death messages, plane type flown, killed, killed by, and landing time (or bail/death time).  That way in the heat of a good fight when I don't have time to read the buffer I can come back and give a to someone who fought a good fight.  Make it another button from the clipboard, maybe you can reivew your last 2 or 3 sorties...

6) Offline .reload button so you can reload all internal and external options while still in the air in the loadout you took off with.  When I'm off practicing jabo I hate to have to .ef and then jump into a new ride.  You've got an ammo multiplier for the guns, how about a .reload for bombs/rockets/etc.

7) allow tracers on/off to be set by gun bank.  I like having tracers on to scare people with on one set of guns, but wouldn't mind having them turned off for sneak attacks on the other.

Just thoughts, some of these might be useful to some people.  Most of them probably wouldn't take a lot of time like building a new aircraft or anything.  A couple of them could be really useful for everyone while others might be good training aids.

The P51, P47 and P38 all have the flexible ammo load available in the hanger. Including the lesser weight of fewer guns.  The Spits and the 190s should have the same capability in the hanger. Both flew operationaly without thier pop guns loaded or mounted in favour of their cannon armement.

The Pony has a choice for mounting 4 or 6 .50s.  The ammo difference is, IIRC, 80 rounds more total with 6 guns on the airframe.
