Have to admit, it was fun.

The MA was giving me fits lastnight, disco's, hardlocks, losing my JS, losing Vox Tx, you name it, it happened. Once I got everything (except vox) going again, I decided to go to the CT because the ping times were better at that time and I was pissed off at the MA, lol.

Anyway, jumped to the IJN side and had a ball. Had a great fight against an F4F. Don't know who he was but he was good. I pinged him a few, he pinged me. He got me hard once and caused a fuel leak. When I saw the leak, I increased my aggressiveness, reversed and got a few hits on him just as my engine died. I was able to ditch because he either decided not to come back, or he was low on ammo/fuel himself.

Re-uped and had to fight another F4F. 2 actually with 2 P40's and 2 A20's. Luckily Corwin and Beeger were in the immediate area. When it was finally over, the remaining A20 was running home. :)

Had a blast gents/(gals?).

It was great having you flying last night Apache. I hope you spend more time in the CT. It's a fun way to spend your Aces High time.

Glad to hear it!
(and to think I was getting gang-banged in the MA last night!, LOL)

Question,
Did you find your fights in any way even a bit more imersive because of the historical match-up, or did they just happen to be good fights?

Good question eskimo, however, I'm not sure of the answer. I'm not usually one that is bothered by a spit killing me in a Yak or a George killing me in a zero. A "good" fight is a good fight to me but one can still get cherry picked in any arena.

What I left out in my earlier post was the passes by P40's prior to the first F4F. Easy to evade, they zoomed, rinse and repeat. Boring.

So, to answer your question, no, not more immersive per se, but I could concentrate on dogfighting the 2 or 3 cons versus being cherry picked by 10 la7's. :)

Whatsmore, I'm not sure if this is the norm, but the fights appeared to be concentrated between 2 or 3 fields that were close together. Made for some fun, quick action and not sight seeing tours.

Apache, if there are more than 16 people in the CT, there is almost ALWAYS a fight between two close fields.   When 1.10 came out, I flew in the MA cuz that's all that was open.  Frankly, I couldn't find a fight, other than one.  You were there (I think, I know Hooli and Lazs were) and you saw what happened.  It degraded quick, and the Rooks wouldn't leave their field afterwards.  *shrug*  So next time I logged on, the CT was up and I went in there.  I had a blast, and enjoyed it again the next two times I got to play.  The fights are smaller, and the tactics are obviously less varied (do you really expect the Wildcat to stall fight a Zeke?), but it's still fun for me.  Of course, I love historical immersion, so I've got the bonus for my enjoyment there.  Of course you knew that since you know I like flying Hurris in WWIIOL.  lol

Lol Nifty, ya Brit wannabe :).

Your right about the MA. One or 2 fights and thats it lately for me. Flying all the way to a field because the cons don't want to leave and get caught between fields is rather boring.

Three were 33 in the CT when I logged on. Sides fairly even. Allied was slightly heavier, so I went IJN. It was indeed a fun time, compared to the hour I had just spent in the MA.

If its like this in the CT on a usual basis, I think you'll see me there more often. Who knows, if I can convince lazs that all those identical icons are wrong and there are really different types of ac, I'll drag him along to, lol.

If you really liked the CT, (****shameless plug time****), then you should think about joining a squad that specializes in it.  I am having so much more fun in the game since I did this.  I would reccomend the 27th sentai if you like IJN.  They fly axis planes always, and IJN when available.  The squad is being formed now, I would check into them (you don't have to forfeit your MA squad to do this) or any other squads that fly CT.  They are all fine, and are aggressively seeking more pilots (especially axis) to fly in the CT.  (the best would be if you flew axis, Tues and Thurs nights against our hellcats....)

Hope to see you in there in the future, it sure is a blast.

Hey Apachie,

Some old geezer blad headed guy about your age, with a Texas Louisana accent, using language mother wouldn't approve of, is telling us young boys to never ever ever turn fight with those zekes!

An besides we're thinking about that 500$ bonus for each plane shot down.
