The AW RR types need a macro function

Another example.

One day, I had a real life (very bloody) battle with rodentia invading my home.

There was a scenario going on a the time, and I wrote about it in the NG. Later that day we had a frame and when our group dropped ThirdUp out of nowhere shouted "RATS AWAY" on the open channel.

I have never dropped another bomb without that macro going off.  :)

In time my CPID evolved from "=B17=" to "Ratbo" and few even *commented* on it because they all knew the background.

So in my case the "dreaded macro" served as a reminder of some pretty funny stuff.

Plus in scenario play, it lets my CO know that the group(s) I am leading reached target and dropped.

I still think we don't need macros if we have a .tardsquelch option.

A couple macros I remember best while patroling as a Game OPerator was

"I smoked a Dweeb, but did not inhale"

"Sorry I though you were my Ex-wife"

If the macro function is added I *REALLY* hope the ability to write macros to say things in radio is disabled.

That was one THE most annoying things in AW.. everyone putting up lame bellybutton brags about a kill

I strongly hope AH doesnt allow macros if they can be used to post annoying text messages.

That's where the squelch feature comes in. In the end AH software can't stop macros as most sticks can get around it by programming a macro in the joystick software.

I don't have to say "Rats Away" when I drop bombs. My MS bomb button does it for me.

The RR crowd in AW never got any respect.

Therefore AWers who flew mostly RR, like myself, come here to AH to kill and be killed, and smirk to ourselves as these "skilled" FR pilots don't do any better than we "RR dweebs" do.  I never had a macro, either.

Why did I fly RR in AW?  It was more realistic than AW FR.  Sad but true.  Even Earl agreed with that.

No matter--we're all one big happy (or is that un-happy?) family now!

Hate is a *good* think in a game where you kill people.  :)

For you confused Aces Highers, just think of a kill macro as a "Westy post" and you'll get the idea.

Aces High is that wonderful evolutionary product that has taken the best elements of Air Warrior and Warbirds, left behind the rotten ones, and made a game that's a powerful fusion of the best of all worlds.

Meaning... there's a damn good reasons macros weren't implemented from the beginning.  :)

I have always used a kill macro - yes, even in FR! - and still do in AW.  I think they can be very entertaining and much more interesting than the "SYSTEM: Victory 1 by...." messages!    :p

"Killed by a Krait - Hisssssssss!"  or "Killed by a Hell God(dess)!" are what I currently use.  Hehe....   ;)
