I just do not understand why so many here and at AGW insist on posting on the various company's viability. I said it in Pasquale's post and I'll say it here - it can come to no good.

Maybe I'm missing something though. Anyone who can shed some light on why it is of benefit to the community or good to the companies to continually forecast failure from outside the arena, without the real numbers, without any real knowledge of the companies plans, contingencies, financing, liabilities, etc., would you please tell me?

These guys post their envelope calculations like it is gospel. I wonder if they have ever seen a real business plan. Do they know that most companies are not profitable for some time? That it takes time to build a base, develop technology, etc.

I would just like to ask that anyone who wishes to post more of this kind of junk add a section to their post that describes what their motivation is in posting.

Why post this stuff? Just so others will reply to your post? Are you trying to help or hurt? Why? Does ignorant speculation do something for you? Do you think that somehow you are going to tell these people something they never thought about or don't know?

Can't we all just let the programmers and buisnessmen do what they are best at and reap the rewards?

Over in "the other thread", dracon decided to invoke the free speech issue. Well, good for you dracon! You can knee-jerk with the rest of the 12 year olds.

You should know that this is not a free and open forum. This is a forum owned and operated by HTC. You have no guarantees or rights of free speech here at all. There is no freedom of the press here either - for the same reason. On the other hand, HTC is protected by those rights. But dracon, you and pasquale are not.

Even if you were protected, free speech does not mean that you should say/post crap. It only means you can. Saying that you should not post the sort of junk pasquale insists on posting is not abridging your rights in any way (this assumes you had them in the first place - which you do not). It isn't a free speech issue.

There is a little-used thing called common sense. You might want to investigate it.

I still suspect you guys are a bit on the young side to have unsupervised net access. Can't wait til the $30 filter gets rid of you guys. Heeelllloooo Jennicam

People who have no business/marketing training may use simple math and gut feelings to come up with opinions about if this game will succeed for fail.

Those working for HTC may have more training in this area than most of us.  They certainly didn't throw at a dartboard to come up with $30/month, and they certainly didn't say "Hey this will piss a lot of people off, let's make it $30/month!".  They probably know what they are doing.

Speculation is just fine because it's just that...speculation.  My only response to the doomsayers is "Who cares!?!"  AH will either succeed or fail, I'll give them my $30/month and hope they make it.
