Beer commercials... reversing the trend?
« on: July 15, 2002, 05:06:20 PM »
I was talking to a friend at work today about beer commercials.  They moved away from sceauvanistic (sp?) representation for some time and were somewhat sensitive to the feminine gender.

That seems to have come to a screetching halt.

The motto that seems to be prevalant is "DRINK OUR BEER AND YOU WILL GET LAID... POSSIBLY BY TWINS WITH REALLY BIG TITS."

Budweiser, Coors, ZIMA, Bacardi ans so on...

Man.. talk about a major switch in directions.

Or is it just me?

DejaVu drinks Zima and listens to boy bands.  Tits are good, & commercials for beer with tits makes beer almost worthwhile.  Another plus is listening, stupefied, as my 32-year-old sister describes getting tipsy, then climbing onto one of those "twins" beer billboards with a friend and vandalizing it in the name of feminism.  I believe the spray painted phrase was "dickless toejamheads", or something to that effect.

it's chauvinistic...from Chauvin,a fanatical French nationalist. The word originally refered to extreme patriotism. The modern meaning is a prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group or kind.

The beer commercials always seem to focus on comedy during the cold months, then back to birds and boobs in the warmer months.

Regardless, nothing comes as close to being a porno as those stupid Dentine Ice gum commercials.

Advirtising targeted towards men is very simple and comes in one of two forms,
- If you buy this product, you will date bikini models.
- If you buy this product, it will give you more time to spend dating bikini models.

Women are more complicated, and require a different angle,
- If you buy this product, you will become a bikini model.

since I quit drinking I have begun to question weather or not women are really attracted to slurring, pot bellied men who talk too loud and bump into things.
