As someone who has played the game for 4 days, having never once used any type of flight sim program in the past, all I can say is NICE JOB. I have no real life flying experience whatsoever, but the way these planes act, the difficulty in maneuvering, and the sheer awe I feel when I see another pilot pull off a great move -- that all makes me think that this game kicks some serious ass.
That said, I have a question about the historical aspects of this type of game.
There are a thousand real life factors that can never really be duplicated in a game, such as politics, morale, lack of pilot skill/training, on and on. No game can be 100% realistic, because even if it was, then it wouldn't really be that fun.
Example? Death. You die, that's it. No more repop at a new field and go try again. Example? Supply lines. You may be a great pilot, but if there's no gas, you're screwed.
That said, I'm wondering about whether or not this game is headed in a direction that would limit the "Countries" (rooks/knights/bishops) to country appropriate planes? Meaning..is the game headed towards a more European theatre style of sim, where basically you have axis, allies and japanese teams?
I'm not sure that would be good, or bad, i love being able to fly all the planes. But I'm just wondering if thats an issue thats been discussed and/or resolved.
