Auto-fuel load-out...
« on: July 19, 2002, 11:17:30 AM »
Hello:

Scenario:  My fuel load out is set to 75%--I get to an airfield that is being rushed by enemy forces but there is still time to up and to put up a reasonable defense.  I’m ready to take-off—BUT message pops up only “25% fuel available…” DOH!!! Bring up clip board—switch to hanger—choose new fuel load out (while being careful of not resetting any other load outs/convergence in hanger—I’m a klutz in there with my mouse)
—take-off.

30 minutes later (assume previous airfield was lost) I take off from undamaged adjacent airfield to recapture—DOH! Mid-way I realize its going to be a one-way mission because I forgot I reset my standard 75% load out from previous field.

Possible Solution?:  Your fuel load out set in Hanger is your MAX amount that you want to take—if upping form a porked airfield a pop-up-window could just notify us that only 25% fuel has been loaded with a  “do you want to proceed” “Yes/No” option.  However if you are at an airfield that has more fuel available than you are automatically outfitted with your MAX load out preference.

This way you always can be assured that you “know” your fuel ration at all times—if taking off from porked based you are made aware of what amount of fuel is available—while ensuring that if you are taking off from an undamaged base your optimum fuel choice is pre-loaded.

Hope it makes sense… probably not the most articulate post of my career…

Thoughts??

Thanks,

This has always been an aggravation for me.  I wish they would do something like this.

It would take care of the 15 sec delay and setting change that you could have save the base or friend.

Makes sense to me.

All you would need is a message popping up when taking off that your fuel load was 25, 50, 75 or 100%

By the way MWHUN you can set your fuel without going to the hanger.

type command in message box before clicking takeoff direction

.fuel 0           = 25%
.fuel 1           = 50%
.fuel 2           = 75%
.fuel 3           = 100%
