IMO if you have a psychological problem with eating meat then dont. Your a whacko but a harmless one and only hurting yourself."probably"
I dont know much about vegan diets but I do know certain veggies and grains eaten together form complete protein's which your body needs for muscle regeneration and other bodily functions. I doubt you would get enough though, a protein suppliment would probably not be a bad idea.I have no idea what other "suppliments" you would need as well. One thing I am sure of though, is real food is better than suppliments. Why take calcium when you can drik milk. Its better for you, and has other good stuff in there as well.
I put vegans on the opposite end of the spectrum as a lot of the teenage hulk hogan wanabe's at the gym who gulp down protein bars, shakes, pills ect ect...Eat some food would ya! If you get your protein, carbs and "good" fat..Yes you need fat...from real food, eat lots of veggies with it, then the rest falls into place. As far as loosing weight goes, eat less of the same stuff and run around more and youll loose weight.
What would do you more good then not eating meat would be not eating processed foods. For example, dont buy lunchon meat, buy a roast of beef or chicken breast and make your sandwiches with that, eat whole wheat bread instead of white...You would be much better off then eliminating meat all together from your diet.
