Not really. We had worse smoke when the area around Monache caught fire two years ago.

Getting really smoky today.

Can't smell it, but the view to the north is completely obscured. In some areas, can't see the sierras.

It's much more interesting to look to the monsoons on the east that are coming.

I love monsoon season. :)

...that is... except for the humidity. 107 today and thick...

Any chance you can take some pictures? I was thinking it might make a nice painting if the sunset hits the smoke, since it should all be west of you. This would totally kick ass.

Tried to take some yesterday, but my POS digital camera wasn't cooperating.

Can definitely smell it now. Smells like a BBQ and the sky is completely hazed over. At Echo today, noticed that even the tops of Slate Range and Pilot Knob are obscured by smoke.

Got a quick pic of the sun this morning. It's RED. I'll try and post it tonight.

Here's a view of Ridgecrest from the Randsburg Wash Road and Trona Road crossing...

The mountains that you can see are the south end of the Sierra Nevadas. To the north, completely obscured.

This one is on 178 on the east side of town almost to the BLM horse facility...

It's looking at China Lake from the south side across mirror dry lake...

Guess I should note that this is not from the fire at Lake Isabella. This is the McNally fire farther north.
