My local convience store got bought out by a large conglomerate.

Gone are the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Gone are the HUGE, home made, sandwiches, soups and salads.
Gone are is all the actual food you could buy there.

Hello one thousand different types of potato chips.

My wife and I used to be able to actually do groceries there, if we weren't able to get to the super market.

Cripes, pop, chips and smokes...whee.

:(

Urban life is turning to toejam.

When I was a boy (25-30 years ago) a trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina (or insert your fav childhood beach here) was a unique experience. All kinds of off the wall stores and neat things to do.

Now it's the same toejamty strip malls and McDogfood crap you drive past everyday when you're not on vacation. Putt putting in your chrome handled mobile coffin on your way to a catbox-size cubicle to work for a company that doesn't give a toejam about you while you're doing a job you f**king hate so you can pay your bills so you can get up in the morning and do the same toejam over again until you die.

Christ it must be time for my meds so I can feel good about all this...
