With the mission theatre dawns a new era for AH. This in its infancy must include the B-24.
This post is not for someone to go on a diatribe that we have enough Bombers already it is simply pointing out that the most produced bomber of W.W.2 should be included in this theatre of operations.

Several fans of Soviet aircraft may argue that the "most produced bomber" of WWII is already in the game ;)

I just do not see why we need another US bomber when we need others from Germany, Japan, Soviet Union and Britain or even from Italy. I like the US fighters and bombers that are represented but lets see something aside from the B-24 pushed for in the game.

The B-24 would be nice; it fills a gap between the 6,000-lb load of the B-17 and the 14,000-lb load of the Lancaster. However, given the existing problems with strategic bombing in the game, I really don't see much point in adding another strategic bomber, unless it's necessary for a scenario. There are other planes that would be more generally useful.

B-24 or PB4Y-2 Privateer - both good choices for bombers w/ heavier bombload than B-17 and better devensive armament than Lancaster

A B-24 would be something new and a heavy bomber and so I'd probably spend some time in a bomber again.

Many things would be new and yet not add nothing to the game.

The B-24 is interchangeable with the B-17.  I strongly feel that there should be higher priorities and gaps to be filled before the B-24 is added.

Personally, I think the B-24 has more place in AH than the He-177 or any Russian bomber. Especially if the first setup in the new mission arena is going to be 8th AF.

I'm in no hurry here, I can wait for the planes I really want (Stuka, Hs 129, Me-410, He-111, Do-17), because I know they are all coming sooner or later.

I want the mission theater to be just as good as I think it can be. And that would include B-24s.

Historic maps with B-24s and B-17s attacking historic targets, escorted part of the way by P-51b's and spitfires. Intercepted and attacked by 109s, 110s, 190s...

The mission arena idea has the potential to be the best damn thing that has ever happened to an online flight sim. That should be the focus right now, to make that work, to make it as good as possible. That is more important than adding the SB-2 or whatever.

There will always be more planes to model.

Bring on the B-24!!!! I have never seen a plane that was so pivotal to the strategic bombing campaign in Europe, and the heavy bomber of choice in the pacific prior to the B-29 due to range, be so under represented in on-line flight sims. WB is the only one I know of that has it. Everyone models the B-17 and then says "to hell with the B-24 it won't add anything to game play". I say screw that, history alone demands that we include this aircraft!!

My 2 cents worth,

PB-4Y varient would be unique to AH.    Two top turrets, double 50 Cal's in the side blisters. No bottom turret since it flew low lovel missions.
