I don't think buffs should be made easier
to kill for a lone fighter that approaches
from the 6 o clock position as seems quite
common. Apart from lightly armed bombers such
as the Ju88 approaching like that _should_
be very dangerous. Currently I've had
fighters attack me in a B26 and come in low
and weaving so it is hard to keep track of
them between the two low waist positions.
In those situations without a separate
gunner and pilot a lone bomber is easy to
shoot down. If a lone fighter took on 4
B26s, though, it should be shot down easily.

Personally I think the problem is impatience.
It takes a lot of messing around to get the
right angle to safely strafe a bomber, and
it is less effort to approach directly from
6 o clock. It's just more likely to get you
shot down. Since being shot down isn't that
bad in a flight sim people are prepared to
do it.

I would rather see the ability for a player to control a flight of say, four bombers. I am tired of the dogfighting bombers. I would rather see their maneuverability limited during daylight. Then make the buff pilots use a feature where the lead bomber controls the flight (Sort of a new 'join formation' command) and the pilots of the other three buffs just gun, just as they really did (tactics wise) in standard box formations. At the same time, use a realistic blast radius on the bombs and reduce the LGB accuracy from 20K. This offers more incentive to use the bombers as they were actually used and makes them carpet bomb to knock out installations. Now, I say make them only do this during the day, since night tactics were different. From the time the sunsets, until it comes up, I would leave them as maneuverable as they are now, because they typically flew in a trail formation and downward spirals were typical defensive maneuvers at night. For clarification, this would only apply to those bombers with mulitple gunner positions which were typically used for level bombing. It wouldn't apply to the Mossie or AR-234 for obvious reasons. I also might make it so that bombers get their maneuverability 'back' below 5k AGL JIC they are flying NOE missions (i.e.-B-26, B-25).
