Well, I was just on and there was an enemy radar factory complex within 5 miles of a Rook base. It was completely untouched.

Strategic targets, as they stand now, are worthless.

doesn't matter on the old maps i think. even if the factories are down, strat menu shows 100% production output.

when the HQ is full destroyed it just disables nme radar, but no friendly dar and no sector counters.

This was on AKDesert, not an old map.

Also it wasn't the HQ, but rather the radar factory complex.

I was just pointing out that strat targets do so little that people can't even be bothered to destroy them when they are free for the destroying.

Strat targets are useless as things now stand.

I didn't realize it had gotten that bad.

Just goes to prove points and ranking can't induce players to go for targets that don't affect the game. That's not a bad thing IMO.

on maps other then the akdesert map the strat targets themselves are "undestructible". Guys in my squad bombed/straffed a training facility and non of the buildings would die. From the chatter over the country channel it seems strat targets are bugged.

The ak map was reported to be bugged as well. I think it had to do with strat zone ownership. Sometimes the strat objects would show red but would not take damage.

I think its more a matter of why bother if it cant be destroyed then not hitting it because some one feels strat is useless. Strat has always been useless except in the days when if you killed the city then hq, oneside would lose dar for 2 hours. Ammo factories being destroyed or ack factories or training facilties being destroyed never had any real impact on the game.

They were still hit.

I bombed it with an IL-2, it blew up just fine.

People just weren't bothering.

maybe but they arent any less useful then at any other time......

maybe the bug is fixed and no one realized, but they the problem with strat ownership was never consistant on the AK map.

Also coming off a smaller map where the strat objects were bugged people assumed it was the same in the ak map.

or maybe folks realized its more fun chasing a live target then a few buildings
