I use it. I have to shut it off to play AH, but other than that, it seems to work well.

An personal firewall is only as good as the user using it... You would be suprised on how many people with ZA i have "hacked".

ZoneAlarm work very fine for me. The only thing u have to make sure is, that after every patch of AH u have to allow AH to connect to the internet.
So if u install a new patch of AH and start AH to play online AH wont connect. If no ZoneAlarm message box is visible simply press "y" and AH will connect.
After playing AH change to ZoneAlarm and AH will show up in the programs list. Click on "allow connect" and all will be fine.

OR just press "r" before pressing "y" ;)

You can specify Zone Alarm to identify by pathname only which will stop ZA stopping AH everytime you install the patch. Firewall's are great for stopping the casual hacker but anyone determined will get into your system but they do give some peace of mind and a good idea if you have broadband. If hackers can get into NASA or Military defense systems what's to stop them getting into your desktop?

LOL Two things I learned working on the Mil Star project.
One is that the only unhackable computer may be,

a stand alone machine.
not connected to, or accessible by, any other computer, by any method you can envision.
in a uncrackable locked vault.
surrounded by a vacuum
surrounded by a triple layer of self generating self oscillating static barriers.
surrounded by complete soundproofing.
with no available power supply.

Is is possible that this machine can not be hacked, but we are still in doubt.

Two is ''The unhackable computer is a myth. If we could make em foolproof we would not need to hire you people''

I was using ZoneAlarm, and as others have mentioned, I switched to Sygate's firewall - it is a lot more gamer friendly.
