Fightin' Whities

Maybe you've heard this story before, maybe not.  I thought it was hilarious.  I told my wife to get me a t-shirt.

And the NFL's Washington Redskins continue to annoy me.  The Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and Kansas City Chiefs aren't so bad.  The Florida State University Seminoles are actually endorsed by the Seminole Tribe who receive royalties from the school for merchandise revenues.  Not sure what the arrangement is with the Illinois Illini.

Every thang's gonna be all white!

pretty cool (the orignial) story fighting the school making a point but it's gone too far now IMO.

I'd prefer to be 'race blind', especially since I'm half native-american.

Wlfgng,

I am ALL native American. I was born here. Like EVERYONE on this Continent, of all nationalities who was born here, none evolved on this continent. There just isn't any shuch thing as a truly native originated people of the America's All who are here who had ancestors who birthed here had ancestors who came from somewhere else. To my way of thinking I'm as native as anyone else who was born here.

:p
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

good point.

however that isn't what I meant.  I meant that having Indian used in place of Native American isn't offensive to me.

also the use of Native American names, logos, charicatures (sp), etc, does not bother me.

If even ONE American Indian complains that the term "Redskins" or "Braves" is offensive then the term should be discontinued.

I also am the victim of racial stereotyping and I'm quite offended by it- when not downright amazed some people actually believe the tired old stereotypes about my race. It doesn't help our human rights to continue to perpertrate false myths regarding ones' heritage.

And the fact that Bungee-Jumping Accidents are at an all time high among your racial stereotype!  Oh, when will it end!
