Not really. Did you or I choose to let China and the Indian sub-continent become so populated? (Well, I guess we could have tried to forcibly reduce their population...) Is there any way we could have switched them all to "clean electric heat"? Would electricity have solved the problem, given coal fired generators and all?

BTW, what do you think about ole Tom Malthus, anyway?

Relax. There are many things on the planet that no one controls. This is one of them; put it in the "fate" or "destiny" column.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

I through out my "Sneed" ages ago.  ;)

PS:  This is completely subjective, but has any else seem to notice a crap load of record floods, droughts and forest fires this year?

Here's the latest.

30%? Where did you get that number. Why the people of Canada?

Got to make sure there enough money to get the job done right the first time. No F***in around.

Why not the people in Canada? Don't they want something done about it? Be the first to stand up to the plate. Show the rest of the world what it takes.

I'm sure if Canada could come up with a way for the US tax payer to do it, they won't have a problem with it.

When I said "there choice" (forgive the spelling) I was referring to the people on the board.  It's their choice whether or not they ignore what's happening to the atmosphere.

I don't have an opinion on Malthus specifically as I'm not to familar with "An Essay on the Principle of Population".

But if a country gets industrialized it appears that population growth stablizes.
