welcome to Oslo :)

I live about 120km north of Oslo but know it pretty well since I lived there for 4 years earlyer.
Instead of writing alot of stuff, i post some  links for you.
But you are welcome to ask for anything you want if needed.
About the weather in oct. it can be nasty, but as long the weather is good that month, the city is very colourful :D
About hotels and bars, resturants some prices you have to know about:

hotel : from 70$ to 150$ depends if its weekdays or weekends(weekends cheaper)
beer at a resturant 0.4litre: from 5 $ to 6,2 $ pretty much the same at a bar.
sigarettes if you smoke is 6,5 $
steak at a resturant is about 27$ + somthing to drink.
There is always cheaper places, ask the hotelclerks where to go cause it changes all the time and its about 10 years since i lived there.

nigtclubs closes at about 0500 in the morning and usually it pretty filled up the whole week (most popular places) here again ask the hotelclerks again.

so you should bring with you from the taxfree whatever you can hehe.

Do not use the minibar its hillarious how expencive that is.
Train from the airport takes about 15 min to the centre of OSLO.
Lots of hotels and resturants, bars, shops "whatever"  that is in range of walking from the Central station.

Norway is still horribly expensive I see.

Is the cost of a Pizza still $7-12?

Well it is expencive for foreigners, personally i cant complain cause income reflects the prices (exept alcohol and som special taxes we have).
Think the pricing in Norway is pretty much as in Switzerland and Japan.

hehe yes Steve that is right 7-12$ for a pizza + the freaking beer.

Been a mild summer here this year. Remember a few years ago we hit over 100 every day in August. Seems like it even went several days without dropping below 100 (even at night) that year.
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

You couldn't be more wrong.  The hottest chicks are from Texas.  Most can be found in Houston but a better place to look is in Austin because there are almost as many as in Houston but in a MUCH smaller area.

One walk down guadelupe street durring college season and you will need a neckbrace ;)

can't argue, Texan women are HOT !

as for being expensive..
have you ever been to Snowmass , hell I'd gladly pay 12 bucks for a pizza.  GF and I count on spending 25+ on simple dinner out.

I'm moving to Norway.  Besides, they have hot girls too.
