Well, last year it was "Shark Attacks"..this years theme by the press is "Abductions"...forget these have been happening for the last 10,000 years, just keep in mind that its now sensationalized for the almighty $$....

Combination of the media, and a heightened awareness by parents that they really need to get the word out when a kid is missing. Used to be a quiet thing kept to family and friends, not anymore, and for good reason.

They found the little girl kidnapped from Echo park in LA.

They've already arrested a suspect in Texas.
Still looking for the infant though.

It works when they know ASAP after the abduction. Then again, there are always exceptions. Samantha Runnion was not recovered safe, unfortunately. God, these sick diddlys (meaning the amazinhunks who take the kids) deserve to die if anyone does.

Hopefully this media coverage of stuff will cause people to be a little more cautious and aware of what their children are doing. It is a shame that they even have to.

yep ASAP is the call for sure.
That's the whole idea of the AMBER alert.
It definately won't mean that all abductees (sounds like X-files) are found but it is an improvement.

Heh, quoting myself, since NBC national news did a story about how "the press" (Funny how they reported it as though THEY were not part of the problem) could apparently be oversensationalizing these abductions, and that we're actually on pace to having a lower "non-family member" abductions this year than the last 4 years.
