My buddy (Flight Instructor) called Flight Services today for the local weather report. He was given a imminent terrorist attack warning. This was in New York State.

   Pilots were advised to lock their planes if unattended and report any suspicious activity in and around any airports. This was the first time he has ever received this warning.

if i were a true cynic (which i may or may not be, but i wouldn't tell you anyway, as i am a paranoid) i would suggest that this going to be a progressivly more frequent occurance as the election approaches

Interesting point of view. Without putting words in your mouth. Do you believe such warning to be a  political chess move? If so, how many deaths would it take for you to revise your point of view?

i believe you've incorrectly interpreted my somewhat unique brand of paranoia.  i may or may not believe that bush, clinton, enron, haliburton, the bin laden family (including OBL), vlad putin, tony blair, saddam, the house of saud and many others all to be controlled by the same gang of thugs, whomever they may be and i doubt highly that they care how many innocents are killed in their efforts twords world dominance.  That is my particular suspicion (although i'm not too particular about being suspicious).
has the US gov't ever prevented a terrorist plot (this is real, not rhetorical, question - i cant think of one) ?
