« on: August 18, 2002, 12:36:12 PM »
My son is having a problem with starting AH everytime he goes in he has to delete the video 7cfg. file and start it like it is the first time, then it works?   He has to put in the resolution and do all the initial setup for video nearly everytime in?  Maybe someone can help?  He has a ECS MB K7S5A  Geforce 2 GTS 32MB
Video Card, win 98 SE.  XP1700 cpu.  Thanks   Dan

Never heard of that one.... Try setting the desktop to the "in game" settings first, if they are not.

If that doesn't fix the problem, try this:

goto The Guru of 3D Website and read about nVidia drivers...  If your drivers have been updated lately, but weren't removed properly, you'll get all kinds of funky problems...

@ Guru3D, download detonator destroyer & follow the accompanying documentation.

-Uninstall your existing driver.
-run det destroyer
-reboot puter
-let it apply default monitor
-reboot (again)
-Install your drivers
-reboot (yes, again)
-delete your AH Video settings
-launch AH & see..

(((DON'T SKIP THE REBOOTS)))
Everyone does & is the main reason these drivers do funky stuff.

Hope that works, video problems are a pain..

Cyas Up!

check that the cfg file isn't read only...

Though that might not help much...

Ya could save your settings folder and completely reinstall the game..
