Usual reason to why a file gets corrupt is that it downloads the wrong size (usually adds a single byte). Getright will most lilkely fix that. Once again, if it doesn't, let me know and we'll work something out :)

I've d/loaded the 1104 patch twice using 'Get Right' and each time it only d/loads a file size of 31.8Mb, not the 32.5Mb as stated on the HiTech site. :(

Could the HiTech site file be buggered?

Damn man...I'll e-mail you the file.

Let me know if you want me to do this...I don't wanna piss you off if you are on dial up.

BTW..a new patch was released last night so you need Version 11.06 now.

Pips,
AH1106 is a 31.86 meg download. I rarely get the same on Getright as I do on a listing. It has always worked for me in the past.

P.S. If you go to the folder you downloaded into and highlight the icon for it and click properties it should tell you it is 33,410,374 bytes. Divide that number by 1048 and you get 31,880.128. This is the file I downloaded that Getright called 31.86

So 1106 is the new d/load now eh? Well.... as I've had no luck with the 1104 I may as well try the 1106. Let you know how i go. :)

And thanks for all the help guys I do appreciate it. But I will have to pass on the mailing offer. I'm on dial-up and the poor service provider would probably blow its brain trying to cope with it lol. :D

Just for everyone info I thought I might post the message I get when I try to install the game - NB this is after having successfully d/loaded the zip using Get Right.

The message is: " An I/O error occurred while installing a file. this is normally caused by a bad installation media or a corrupt installation file."

Then it asks if I want to Retry or Abort. As Retry doesn't do anything I abort the install. I get thsi message at the 83% of instll stage.

Anyone know what the message is referring to?

Hiya SKurj,

I have my anti-virus turned off, so that's not an issue. And yes, I have d/loaded the full install, having just finished d/loading 1106.

The problem occurs when  double click on the .exe to install it. Its then that I get the above message, which I have just got again with the 1106.exe. :(

It must be to do with my computer, but I'm blowed if i know what it is. Haven't had this problem before with any other d/loads.

Ran a total system clean - disk Cleanup, Defrag and scan disc - all to no avail! :(  Even ran Scan Disc twice.

Looks like I'm fated not to fly Aces High.

Do you have any virus protection in your motherboard bios settings?  Sometimes that can cause problems like that.  Just a thought.
